Cass then interrupts Frankie on the phone to ask for Caroline's file She hands it over, and then tells Cass that Reuben left to deliver a copy of a deposition to the courthouse Cass then asks Frankie to get him Tom Collyer on the phone Frankie asks Cass if he broke a finger or something Cass replies in an annoyed tone that he didn't break a finger, and tells Frankie to just get Tom Collyer on the phone When she tells him the line is busy, he tells her to try again Why don't I just have the operator do an emergency break-in? Frankie asks sarcastically Caroline tells Cass maybe they should finish their conversation over dinner Cass agrees, and tells Frankie to keep trying Collyer and to make reservations for two at the Paradise for 730 Frankie slams the phone down at this and tells Cass he can make his own damn reservations She's a private investigator, not Cass's slave Caroline goes to wait in the hall, and after she's gone, Cass tells Frankie she has a strange way of impressing the boss on the first day of work Frankie tells Cass that if he's looking for a little butt smoocher, he's got the wrong woman When Cass replies that they have to talk, Frankie tells him go ahead and talk, she's listening
Frankie agrees that she works for Cass and Zack, but tells him that she's a PI, not Cass's gal Friday, and if that's what he's looking for, maybe he's got the wrong woman Cass says maybe Frankie's right about that Frankie suggests that maybe Caroline, Princess Di with the peroxided head and designer dresses needs a job Cass says Caroline is not only a client, she's also his friend Frankie snidely asks if that's all, and Cass asks what the hell difference does it make to Frankie anyway Caroline sticks her head in then to find out what's keeping Cass, and says Ciao to Frank Cass tells Frankie the discussion isn't over, and Frankie says you bet it's not Cass tells her to turn the lights out when she leaves, and after he's gone, Frankie throws her pen down in frustration and then sinks into her chair with a sigh |
