I have mixed feelings about Critical Mass This one was the worst I've been on for a while It was too fast for casual riders and there wasn't enough of the usual corking of intersections only having my wits (and a nice fixed gear) about me saved my ass on this one You've got to either stop at lights or cork intersections--you can't do neither and have fun People shout join us to bikers they see on the ride, but talk is cheap We have to make the ride actually welcoming if we really want people to join
The ride also split up and wove through traffic, defeating the whole point of the Mass Also, some out of town people mouthed off at some cops--no point in that, and I saw someone spitting on cars Knock it off people, we're here to celebrate! Bikes-R-Love, people! Is this people who were in town for the rocky race? We welcome you to our rusty metropolis, so don't mess things up! For the record I also don't think it was a good idea to go through the Penn Campus-we are more powerful if we take the streets; there's no point in alarming pedestrians on multi use paths such as Locust Walk |
